I am passionate about helping people work through difficult situations and stages of life, while respecting their individual perspectives and choices. I feel privileged to be able to discuss the deep and meaningful issues and challenges, helping to create more harmony in your life wherever possible. I will work with you to resolve your problems with understanding, empathy and without judgement. |
I am an experienced professional counsellor in private practice working with both individual clients and couples.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Level 4), a trained Couples Therapist, and an ACA Recognised Supervisor. I have a Bachelor of Counselling degree from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, and have also worked as a therapist at Australia's leading treatment centre, South Pacific Private Hospital, supporting clients recovering from childhood and adult trauma and addiction. I have also previously worked as a Crisis Counsellor at Lifeline, and have completed training in crisis support, suicide prevention and family violence support.
In our sessions we work with your feelings and experiences, and together we take apart the messy knot of problems, clarify your goals and develop a way for you to reach them. In a caring and safe space on the Northern Beaches, you can speak with me confidentially about your issues. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with difficulties, including: conflict, communication issues, depression, anger, anxiety, grief, loss, stress, family dysfunction, parenting issues, trauma, addictions and transitions in life.
Depending on your specific needs, I draw from a number of therapeutic modalities, all incorporating a respectful, strengths-based, person-centred approach. My background in the performing arts has given me a deep appreciation for the incredible diversity in perspectives and choices we make as individuals, the power of communication, both verbal and non-verbal, and the importance of authentic connection in our lives - connection to both self and others.
The counsellor-client relationship is a central part of the healing process. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, in emotional pain, or want to have a better relationship with your loved one, counselling can help you. I am committed to providing the best service possible to you as my client. Please visit the Testimonials page to see what some other clients have written. I welcome your call to discuss any questions you may have.
